For those of you who actually read my fanfiction.net stories, you are well aware that I have a new story, Phoenix Ascending, waiting in the wings. I have a special sneak peek just for you guys who are on this site, since I am sure fanfiction.net wouldn't allow this to be posted. And so, without further ado, here is the special sneak peek. ENJOY!
------------------
Phoenix perched herself by the lakeshore, resting an arm on a knee and staring out at the smooth surface in front of her. The surface was only disturbed when a gray tentacle broke through the water. She had to admit that it was rather peaceful out here. She didn't blame the students for coming out here for some quiet time or a place to hang out.
"Something on your mind?"
She threw her head back, green eyes locking contact with hazel. The young leader watched James walk around her and take a seat next to her.
"Not really," she admitted. "This place reminds me of home a little. We too have a lake, but not as large as this. I would often sit and just stare out at nothing. It's very relaxing."
James nodded. "My friends and I, back when we attended here as students, would always sit down under a tree near the lake and either do homework or find a student to prank."
"I heard about your exploits as students here from several of the Professors," she said, with an amused smile. "Though, your pranks weren't always amusing, were they?"
He threw her a sharp look. "You must have heard that from Severus."
"Not really, Mr. Potter, though Mr. Snape was rather, shall we say, eager to retell his horror stories. I heard plenty of stories from Mrs. McGonagall. Mr. Flitwick would speak of nothing but how advanced some of your spellwork was in certain pranks. Everything has two sides, however, so I was aware that I was only hearing half the story." Phoenix stood up and brushed bits of grass off of her black skirt. "I must not spend too much time here unless I face the wrath of my commanding officer when he hears that I neglected my patrol."
As she walked away, James stared after her, frowning. This girl was a mystery all by herself, a mystery just waiting for him and his friends to solve. And solve it they would.
------------------
nothing too intense, but I didn't want to get you guys too hyped up for it. It's still in the works and I am waiting for at least one of the current stories to get done (if not two of them) so I can post this one. It might take a while. Who knows?
I hoped you guys enjoyed this preview. I will try to get My Child going as soon as I can. My college workload just got bigger this week and I have to work on that first before I can get any free time. So, next time lovelies.
